Reading Assignment 2

Pip returns to the marshes to give the convict what he asked for, but instead he finds a different convict. The two convicts fight and later get taken back to prison. Pip's family celebrates Christmas, but Pip is not thrilled at all. He doesn't like when he is around his relatives, because all they do is criticize and lecture him. Pip feels extremely guilty about taking the pie from Mrs. Joe. When she goes to the cabinet to get it, it isn't there and Pip runs to the door, but is stopped by some soldiers. Pip thinks he is in trouble, but all they want is for Joe to fix their handcuffs, since he is a blacksmith. Pip is taken to Miss Havisham's home.
